Keeping the friendship flame burning

Friends having fun on their road trip

We sometimes have annual get together with officemates – driving out one night to a place of our own, and owning the world for ourselves. We take turns coordinating it in pairs and, way ahead, we start planning it. But because of our various engagements, it has become more difficult to arrange.

If this is your problem as well, here are a few things you can try.

 Ensuring a smooth ride

Make sure your car is in tip-top shape as you and your friends feel the cool breeze of a moonlit leisure drive to your destination. The good thing is that all over New Zealand, there are automotive services available to make sure that your car is in A-one condition. Avail yourself with this convenience and don’t let one little car malfunction spoil the fun.

A great place to go to

Ahead of the activity, identify a good place to go to. It may be somewhere out in the open, a roadside café, a late-night bar, or the next town carnival. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it has to be the right place for the kind of activities you and your friends enjoy doing.

Doing fun things together

And the best part, of course, is doing what you love doing together. A bonfire camp offers an opportunity for everybody to laze around and share stories carelessly. Singing the group’s favourite songs never goes out-of-date. So is playing games, dancing like crazy, and a lot of other things. But sharing a toast of your favourite wine is always an excellent way to cap the night, strengthen the ties and ensure that there will be a next time.

Eventually, the night comes to an end. Everybody goes his way. But everybody goes home looking forward to the next get-together to keep the friendship flame burning.
